Does smart section 2.14 not properly work with latest xoops?

I think smart section is the best ever released article module, for which I haven't find any alternate so far.
I am trying to use it with xoops 2.4.5
I think its "editors" are not compatible with this/latest version of xoops.
I selected all the available editors in preferences of smart section, but none of them shows up except the simple html/dhtml editor. So formatting is a big concern using this module now.
Any solution please?

If I am not mistaken the above mentioned module is actually based on smart section but may not be 100%...


It did not work on a 2.5 site I tried it on. Seemed to do everything but actually publish articles.

Thanks Mamba, I have installed "Publisher" I will do write to xuups, if required any assistance.
At first instance publisher seems to be a good alternate, yet missing few features of smart section like "keywords" for every article.

I'm running Smart Section on my 2.5.0 Xoops site and I have not noticed any problems with editors. Works fine with both dhtml and tiny editor.
I love Xoops!

OK, I will try with 2.5.0 and will share if it works fine for me too.

Publisher is MUCH better than SmartSection

For one thing, it's still in development
Secondly, it has support
Third, it searches and presents articles much faster
Fourth, it is much better if you're handling a lot of articles, I'm up to 12,800 and still adding

Smartsection crashed continually after 9,000

Hello Chefry! Thanks for posting here.
First two points are valid and might be the fourth ofcourse. But it lacks three main features.
1) No keywords for articles, if you are uploading scanned images, there will be no searching for these.
2) No weight, you can't sort articles as want.
3) No image for article facility. If you are posting books, book title is important thing, which is not here.
4) It has only two features for articles (a title and body), that's all
Smart Section had all the above and lot more.

Another module worth to check out is AMS. Not sure if it have all features you want. But it works fine with latest Xoops.
I love Xoops!

I am afraid, you didn't look correctly into Publisher.

Go to the third Tab: "Others", and check it out there.

And while we're at that, check out also the "Images" Tab.

Publisher is SmartSection on Steroids
