I tried installing themes from the XOOPS.org themes repository, and it simply does not let me install them through the Template Set Manager, because it keeps telling me: Must be a tar.gz/.tar file with a valid XOOPS template set structure*

I downloaded some themes from the XOOPS.org themes repository, so I support they would be able to be installed, but I do not know why it does not work?

All the themes I downloaded are in the .zip file name.

I am using the latest XOOPS 2.4.5 installation with my website.

Thank you very much.

Found the solution:

I just had to search correctly by the subject title name:

Sorry, my fault I did not do more searching.

Thank you very much.

In the system there are two types of themes.
The first is the "Theme" responsible for the overall look of the page.
The second is the "templates" - they account for the structure of modules and blocks.
This is what you asked, it is the template.
But most important is the ability to independently find information!

So, if I re-arrange all the blocks on my website, I can use the theme I installed to make it look that way?

Also, where can I get some XOOPS templates? Or would I have to search online for that?

Thank you very much.

XOOPS has a total of three to control.
Two are a template. You can edit them through the system, or add to the folder in the theme. The system provides override default template sets by placing the files in the theme / modules / templates - in the same name, in which they appear in the system.
A third option - and altogether the most important, is the right theme - its structure, and above all css styles.

If you have any specific questions just ask;)

I am still confused on how to use the whole XOOPS templates, and theme stuff, but eventually I will find myself out.

Thank you very much.

it's not so hard.
First try make all changes in css. All the rest will come with time.
Xoops is a very flexible system for that!

The problem is I am not too good with CSS...

I know how CSS works (kind of by looking at some CSS files), but I have not really tried to implement them.

So my main problem would be getting used to it...

Thank you very much.
