Hi all,

I'm completely new to this, having taken over the (basic) IT responsibilities for my organisation.

Please note that I have a VERY low-level understanding of most of this website management etc... sorry for the bother!

I recently tried to update my website to the new 2.4.4. I followed the instructions.

For the instructions "Upgrading from any XOOPS ranging from 2.0.7 to 2.0.13.2 (using the full package)" located athttps://xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=5208 I completed Step 8 but am unsure of what I am supposed to do in Step 9.

When I try and access my website, I am now receiving this error:

Quote:
Warning: Cache Engine file is not initialized in /home/latrobelsa/latrobelsa.com/class/cache/xoopscache.php on line 182

Warning: Cache Engine file is not set in /home/latrobelsa/latrobelsa.com/class/cache/xoopscache.php on line 140

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class XoopsPersistableObjectHandler in /home/latrobelsa/latrobelsa.com/modules/extcal/class/PersistableObjectHandler.php on line 415

When I attempt to access the admin page directly, I receive this error:

Quote:
Warning: Cache Engine file is not initialized in /home/latrobelsa/latrobelsa.com/class/cache/xoopscache.php on line 182

Warning: Cache Engine file is not set in /home/latrobelsa/latrobelsa.com/class/cache/xoopscache.php on line 140 This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

You can provide the following information to the administrators of this site to help them solve the problem:
Error: Smarty error: the $compile_dir 'XOOPS_VAR_PATH/caches/smarty_compile' does not exist, or is not a directory.

Can anyone help me out with some instructions? Thank you so much in advance, I'm sorry for the bother!

Cheers,

Do not access your website until the update process is finished.
Step 9 is to navigate with your browser to the /upgrade/ directory. Fill in the URL of your site and add /upgrade/ at the end, then click go.

Thanks for your help with that.

I can access the system admin page now, but my website itself is not appearing.

I am getting this error:

Quote:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class XoopsPersistableObjectHandler in /home/latrobelsa/latrobelsa.com/modules/extcal/class/PersistableObjectHandler.php on line 415

Any suggestions?

See this.
I think it will be sufficient to do the files in /modules/extcal/blocks/
