installation - setting charset?

Hi,
I sorry if I'm writing in the wrong place, BUT:

I'm trying to install the new version of xoops (2.4.4) and I have some problems with setting the right charset probably.

I am Czech, so I have set the databaze to make the tables in utf8, coll: utf8_czech_ci. Then, during the installation I've set the same. I have no problem in a title of the whole page...there it shows normally: ěščřžýáíé, but when I try to make a new block and write there ěščřžýáíé, then click on PREVIEW - it shows: ěščřž.

The same problem I have when I write sth into the THEME.HTML file or somewhere else (eg in a template).

Does anybody know where the problem could be? Where should I set the charset else???

Thanks

hi'

I do not know about preview issue. But for templates, try :

1 • open your template (or theme.html) with notepad++
2 • open Format menu and in list, choose Convert to UTF8 (without BOM)
3 • save

I hope it helps

Yes! That really helps, thank you!

I guess I will have to convert all templates like this.

But what should I do with that thing in preview? Maybe it's similar problem, just to convert another file...what do you think?

There is a problem with the preview of the dhtml editor.
Use /include/formdhtmltextarea_preview.php from version 2.3.3 or the new 2.4.5.
Altough the preview does not display UTF-8 characters correctly, they should appear correct in the view of the block.

For editing templates, theme files etc use as said here before the Notepad++ editor and have the UTF-8 without BOM encoding.

I have similar issue with publisher. It's utf8 based site, and all modules are ok, just publisher shows ? instead of some utf-8 chars.
