I just installed MXdirectory on Xoops2.3 and I am getting a completely blank index page. Does any one know how I can fix this.

I have PHP 5.

I am a complete novice, Please help.

Thanks

Apparently the copy I had was conflicting with PHP 5.
I downloaded the latest copy and that solved the issue.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ';' in /home/asiadac1/public_html/pattayayellow.com/yellow-pages/xoops_data/caches/smarty_compile/http%253A%252F%252Fpattayayellow.com%252Fyellow-pages%25%25mxdirectory-default-default^%%4B^4B3^4B3E9984%%db%3Axdir_index.html.php on line 3

this is the error after I turned on debug mode

thanks Mamba, I had found this version later on and yes the blank page issue is fixed.

And luckily on this thread domain where 2.4.4 is installed the module even works on the admin side in contrary to my installation on 2.4.4 on another domain.

which I have mentioned in another post

the issue with line 1729 on admin/index.php

I will most definitely not touch, uninstall or do anything else on the working module on this thread domain.

you might know due to several posts and mxdirectory module references on the threads I do have several version now of the
mxdirectory module but I am pretty certain the only one which is working at least on the user side is the once you suggested

evucan.

As I also said on the other post the very first install it worked on that server, too but I renamed it. But on the second install on that server it did not work anymore despite I was using the same module which is still working on the other domain.

I had downloaded the version from the working domain and uploaded the same module to the new installation on the other domain, but the result is the line 1729 error when calling the module in the admin panel.

( I also used a new version - freshly unzipped of evucan and the same result )

Strange thing but a fact.

working , yes but only on one domain this has been yesterday, my problem exists on the new domain.

Sorry my problem is not solved I just wanted to point out, that the whole thing is very strange, and if you go back to the thread beginning you will realize that one guy has not been able and was not helped with his 2.4 version. He had the same problem on line 1729 admin/index.php

So his and my problem is still existing and if it would be any rather unimportant module I would drop the case and wait but I believe this is an essential module for every site and the matter should be resolved and since I am working with the current Xoops core I believe I am having a point. As you see Mamba is also working on the mxdirectory module. It seems he has realized the importance of such a module to work without trouble on the current or future versions.

that would be one plus point for xoops

Delete the files in xoops_data/caches/smarty_compile.

It's a cache. They will be rebuilt.
