Is there anyone on the forum who specializes in creating (er, modernizing??) the back-end or administrative GUI?

I'm not seeing much & perhaps others can weigh in on why this seems to be the case.

Thanks.

Thanks for all of the help.

I feel like I'm walking on eggshells around this topic, but what restrictions, if any, are there in creating a clean (more basic, less forum-centric) Admin GUI for my typical, "I have 6 pages, a contact form, a news module & a testimonial on each of my pages...and don't understand CMS, but know how to use MS-Word" client?

This was my previous, home-grown, pre-Xoops direction:

Resized Image

Horizontal Nav & control for the current options. This is an idea of what I'd like to get to for the average simple site...but not sure if I am crossing the line with the powers that be.

Please understand, I'm working with a developer and the choices that I am being shown don't give me much hope, but the community itself energizes me quite nicely. (I'm just picking myself up after going off on my own.)

Thanks.

There are no restrictions, so there is no need to walk on eggshells

This is not different from a regular Theme. If you want to have something different, just go ahead and develop it. Then you publish it here for the community, and people who like it, will download it and use it.

If it's really cool and innovative, parts of this could be merged into our current Admin GUI, or it could be added as individual Admin GUI to the Installation as an alternative for the end-user.

So just go ahead and do it, and then share with us...

Thanks. You guys have been quick to put me on the right track.

Can I provide the design (PSD) files and find someone to help take it onward? Any recommendations?

...Or is there a different way that you'd prefer to see me handle this project.

Finally, is there a repository of the XOOPS logos, maybe in .eps? (Since I'm assuming that we should brand the solution appropriately.)
