I can login to our XOOPS website (it gives the msg about successful login), but it then won't display the admin side of things.

If I try http://example.com/admin.php , it says "You do not have the right to access this area".

The website has been moved to another server some months ago, and I haven't logged in for a while, so may be permissions ?

I use protector.

There is only one user (me), and the rank is 7 , and the level is 5.

If I lookup the XXXXXXX_ranks table, number 7 is the highest rank.

Any ideas of why I can't access admin ?

Pete

Did you erase the contents of the cache directories (except index.html)?

No, I didn't do that.

I checked that path, besdies index.html, there was only adminmenu.php. I tried to delete it, no go, it was 444. Changed that to 644, still no go. Changed the cache path from 555 to 755, back into cache path, and still can't delete adminmenu.php

Looks like I'd better contact the chap who looks after the server I think. Seems to be a file perms issue on the cache path.

Thanks for your help,

Pete

Cache has been cleared, and I still get the message ?

The perms have been changed, still the same message. For some reason, XOOPS doesn't "think" that I am 'admin' ?

I can login (I get the msg), the db says there is only one user. I login as _that_ user. That user has full admin rights (I checked the db).

So, .......... why does XOOPS think that I'm _not_ admin ?

Also, a check on the db, and no data has been changed, not that I can see anyway. The file perms are okay.

What gives ? :(

Pete

* Did you change the PHP version on the new server?
* What version of XOOPS do you use?
* Try change cache to 777
* Did you turn the Debug on? What does it say?

PHP and MySQL version?
(If you suspect Protector, you can turn it temporary off in its preferences.)

I don't know if PHP changed at the time of the move. Definitely, both php, MySQL and apache, and kernel changes would have happened since I have last tried to login. The server details now are:

Kernel version    2.6.18-128.7.1.el5
MySQL version    5.0.89
-community
Apache version    2.2.13
PHP version    5.2.10

One thing I have noticed, is that when I do login, it displayed the PHPSESSIONID in the browser. I'm 98% sure it did not do this before, and I _think_ I had XOOPS set not to do that, but to use it's own cookie ID ?? It's been a year or so since I logged in.

in /modules/system/xoops_version.php, it has

$modversion['version'] = 1.02;

Yes, I did try that, still no go.

I can't access admin, so can't turn debug on. I guess I can change it in the db though, as long as it only displays messages (debug) for my session only. I wouldn't want any browser info displaying php stuff.

Thanks,

Pete
