this was a fresh install and has never worked i have searched for other pm modules with no luck on that or even a update for this one. When you click to do anything with a pm it wont do anything at all, you can sit there all day and click till your finger bleeds but it wont do anything for the pm's. any help is appreciated.

fallenangels, Welcome to the XOOPS forum!

I assume you see the inbox screen?
Or a PM button in a users profile?
If nothing further happens, check if your browser allow popups from the site.
Do you see a popup when you click on more in the who is online block (see eg front page here)?

Got more or less the same problem with 2.4.1:
with the pm module I can send messages , I even get the notification that a new message is in the box. However, opening the box tells me I have no private messages.
Uninstalling the pm module, so back to default viewpmsg, I get a blank popup, so no message can be send. However, I do see the private messages already in my box.
Any Ideas?

Edit: ok, found the problem. It appeared pmlite did still do a call to mpmanager.

You have to add
<{$xoops_module_header}>
in your head section in the theme.html

Wish I was that easy. I already had that in the head section so that may not be the solution

so try call in theme.html:
<script src="<{xoAppUrl include/xoops.js}>" type="text/javascript"></script>

or without smarty:
<script src="http://yourxoopssite.com/include/xoops.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

Just upgraded to 2.4.2 and added that call but no luck.

It is not clear to me if you found the problem or not. You say you have upgraded, I would pick the all package and copy all XOOPS files. You may have missed something, you may have the old files hacked for the mpmanager.

Problem isn't solved. The problem with the mpmanager was related to the core pm. That was solved and is working now. The PM module however still isn't. I upgraded from 2.0.16 to 2.4.1 with the full package and to 2.4.2 with the upgrade. Installed the pm module again but still not working: no messages visible while with the core pm they are....Still, not a big thing cause the core pm does the job

EDIT:
1. U can block .pl domains again
2. Cliff it seemst that yoor own browser do this!
