Back by popular demand is CK Editor. The patch to upload to your files to you XOOPS site are available on the SVN under 3rd Party or you can download the zip.

If it doesn't appear clear your editor list cache in xoops_data/xoops_cache

Can someone please give a few pointers on how to implement CKEditor in existing modules?

On XOOPS France you find a download and threads on how to set up it for default, News and NewBB

Edit: Oops, wrong editor, but I assume the code examples will be alike.

Hmmm. Works out of the box for CBB, but in e.g. in SmartSection I can't get it to work despite using similar techniques as the ones described at XOOPS France :(
