What is the extension on the Type1 fonts?
Both TrueType and OpenType fonts which have TrueType outlines have the .TTF file extension. Opentype fonts with Postscript outlines have the .OTF file extension.
Some experimentation is needed as not every font will convert properly to EOT.
IMHO this will become a hotter topic now, as Firefox 3.5 (at last) joins Safari 3.0, Opera 10.0 and Google Chrome 3.0 in supporting the embedding of true-type fonts using the @font-face declaration.
With some CSS trickery you should be able to create a cross-browser embedded font style using EOT for IE and TTF for the others.
Makes for a nice Sunday afternoon's Googling
