Hi all i hope some of you guys can help me now since i havde been looking for so long for a solution for this problem.

The root of the problem is that no matter what WYSIWYG editor i installe in XOOPS the buttons for creating the site (link button, text format buttons and all othere buttons) dosen't show up, and it driving me MAD.

When i install XOOPS and editors (cjay) on a server hostede by a webhosting company everything workes.
If i install it on my local webserver no buttons show up.

My webserver solution is:
Apache 2.2.11
My SQL 7.0.6
PHP 5.2.10 (all extentions on)

Everything else workes in xoops.
Hope you can help me so i can get it to work.

Best Regards Jesper

WonderDrug, Welcome to the XOOPS Forum.

Which XOOPS version did you install? What server package do you use?
There should be no problems on a local PC with XOOPS 2.3.3 and eg XAMPP as server.
Also your explaination is not very clear about what happen exactly. Can you provide a screenshot?

If you use CJay and the SPAW editor is included, remove these editor files immediate from your server, because they contain a security hole and your website may be in peril for being hacked.

It seems the toolbars of the editor are not showing.
Is this not a question of some settings in a configuration file or admin preferences? Also some permissions (module) may be involved to allow showing.

(As it turns out to be the dreadful SPAW editor: remember my previous remark!)

Its not an option nor a addon since there is no difference from the stuff i did when installing XOOPS on webserver on the Internet or installing local

As far as you remember ...
Do a total file and database compare to be sure.

Wonderdrug, perhaps you give us a screenshot from the system settings on your remote webserver. Perhaps register_globals off is to blame on your local installation, because cjaycontent is an ancient module. I would not use if you are using an old spaw version. If you have an old version of spaw your system is open to attacks.

Oh, forgot one! if register_globals is to on on your remote server: TURN IT OFF

First thing tomorrow i'll upload a screen of the web server.
Since the codes is on work, but globals is off on bouth webserver and local.
The problem with buttons disepering in WYSIWYG editors isen't limeted to cjay only, i tryede othere WYSIWYG editors aswell with same result.
If you have any recomendations to a great editor i'll happyly change i just, used cjay becourse my boss use it so ha helpede me getting it started =)

To Ghia ->
Im 100% sure the files are the same since i did the installe localy and remotly at the same time with the same files, only i diden't set up the web servers SQL the firm i bought the serving with did.
They use an older Apachi server 1.XX something where i use 2.2.11
and from what i can figure out from phpAdmin they allso use MYSQLI but i have no ide where to get a hold of that or how to set it up. But the functions shout be the same ??

In computers, when the outcome is different, it means the initial is different. My best bet is still a different configuration (file) or preference (db).
