My site suddenly stopped displaying module content. Still shows the blocks for menus and recent content that is in the modules, but no longer shows the content of any of the modules. Even fails to display user profile! Any help would be warmly received! I'm using XOOPS 2.3.3 with mediawiki 1.6.7; CBB 3.0.8; Cjaycontent; videotube; and smartFAQ installed. I turned debugging on and this was the output:

None All errors (0) queries (25) blocks (6) extra (2) timers (6)

Probably something stupid, but it's not a theme problem of that I'm sure. Was working fine, then suddenly wasn't! Maybe it'll fix itself, but I'm doubtful.

Anyone else experienced this?

Thannx for any help. Cheers.

Okay, just noted I do get one error when I try to display the wiki module:

None All errors (1) queries (35) blocks (7) extra (2) timers (6)
Error: [2] mysql_real_escape_string(): 17 is not a valid MySQL-Link resource
Ending Script

Not sure if that is relevant to the problem though.

Did you change something on your site or did it happen suddenly?
Which theme are you using? Is it also the case with the default theme? (I noticed the phenomena with Ghost 2 and IXT)

PS: I see you use Cjaycontent. Remove the spaw editor of that module, because it has security leaks and your site may become hacked.

I'm using my own theme - highly customized menu system, but nothing has changed on it for some time. Thanks for the tip on Cjay content, I never used the spaw editor anyway and have now disabled it.

The errors messages all seem to be of the 'notice' variety and they are not the same depending on which module content I attempt to display (which menu item I select, wiki, profile, forum, etc.) That being the case, I don't think the problem is there.

Good idea to try and change the theme, I switched it in the preferences to 'default' and then to 'zetagenesis' and nothing happened at all, it keeps using my theme!? Something seems quite fishy. I'll get back in a few hours and try pulling my theme out entirely to see what happens - very odd though.

Thanks for the help! All suggestions are welcome!

Just an idea, but have you contacted your host to see if they've updated something or moved things around recently?
Never let a man who does not believe something can be done, talk to a man that is doing it.

Meaning 'deleted the files'? If not you are still vulnerable.

You have to log in and out to see the preference change. Use the theme switcher system block for immediate effect.

Alright, was a dumb goof as they usually seem to be. Was able to get the theme to switch by logging in and out - theme switcher didn't work for some reason. Once I switched themes things went 'right'. Tracked down the problem to something I did in the my theme two days ago

So here's the embarrassing part where I eat crow:

I had moved module content table INTO the center blocks table. As there were no center blocks to display, it wasn't displaying the content either. What befuddled me was that I had set myself up for all this 'fun'. As, before yesterday, I DID have center blocks active. So when I had first made the change to my theme, it was still displaying the content and hence, when I later disabled those center blocks and everything went blank, I KNEW that it couldn't possibly be MY theme causing the problem because it was working just fine a few minutes before! HA! Somehow it must have been something else. . .Crow eaten - yuk!

Thanks for the help and good tips too,

Cheers
