Liaise - contact form

I really really need a good Contact form..... the best was always Liaise, but for some reason it is not compatible with 2.3.1 ((sighs))

Anyone familiar with the coding of Liaise.....maybe there is a little hack snippet to make it work again. If not, what else can you use that is as configurable and will actually work with 2.3.1

Any help or direction is appreciated......

Liaise was designed not to work on unknown XOOPS versions.
There is a patch in this thread.

Which code snippet in that thread?

I'm about to install Liaise 1.26 on a brand new 2.3.1 site......

In the Thread
Post number 4 by JAVesey - I did this first - made the error in admin go away. (yeah)

then I did
- Post number 5 by Trabis (but on the following part)
in liaise include/form_execute
(I only replaced the following from that post)
$xoopsMailer =& xoops_getMailer();
$xoopsMailer->setTemplateDir('liaise');

and finally in Post number 8 by Trabis
I did the patch to xoopsmailer.php

Hope that helps.....I am so glad it works now

Changed the code in footer.php and Liaise 1.26 installed like a charm... no error messages, etc. Works properly too

I have read some posts that Liaise 1.26 works with XOOPS 2.3.x okay and some posts that a patch or patches are required for the mailer, etc. I am doing compatibility testing after upgrading a site from 2.0.18.1 to 2.3. All I have noticed so far is the "Version of XOOPS does not meet the system requirement. Liaise may not work properly" admin error.

Does it work okay other than the footer.php error or are other patches indeed required? -- any consensus regarding compatibility?

All I can say is that Liaise 1.26 from BrandyCoke works for me on XOOPS 2.3.2a

I amended footer.php to make the admin error go away but that is purely cosmetic as the module works anyway.

I have my site set to use phpmail.

And yes, I've tested the module and all functions work. I installed it on a new XOOPS 2.3.1 site only last week.

JAVesey - thanks for the comments and reassurance. Liaise is very important to one of my customers.
