Hello,

First let me say, WOW! I am totally impressed with the whole package of Xoops, and the people that have been working together on it. WOW!

Now I have a question though. I have installed XOOPS on a Windows server, as a test and development server, but would like to move it to a production linux server soon.

Will I need to do a fresh install of Xoops, and then replace the database, and installed modules, or will I need to rebuild my developed XOOPS from scratch again?

Any help on migrating a finished XOOPS site from windows to linux, would be greatly appreciated, as I am new to it.

Thank you all in advance, and great job!

Shnippy

You can upload with FTP all your files from your working Windows system and transfer your database with backup and restore functions from phpmyadmin.
Empty the sessions table in the target database.
On the server you have to edit mainfile.php for the changed paths and database credentials.
You have to verify all access permissions (chmod) as explained in the install instructions.
Empty the cache directories.
