Unable to log in from work machine

As you know I an testing 2.3 on warpigw2.com. I have been logged in from home with no problem (of course I have not logged out). I attempted to login from work today and it gives me "Incorrect Login" error then redirects me to user.php.

To test I did register as a new user and was able to login under that account. My question is with the auto login function, does it restrict login from other machines? or perhaps protector?

I will check more when I get home. Could be the above reasons or perhaps even corrupt sessions. I cannot, from here, get to admin to check further.

Any ideas let me know.

I did it from two different browsers, and was able to login, but it was on the same computer. I didn't try from two different IPs.

OK, not really sure what is going on, but reset my password in the database and was able to access both places again. Now I wish I could duplicate, worries me my password may have changed.

Your password can be get changed in several ways:
- requested lost password with emailaddress.
- accidental in edit profile (see admin name in interest field).
- bug
- hack attempt
If you suspect the last, you could get more info in the logs and then you should not use the old password anymore.

Well further testing this seems to be a bug in the profiles module. I had the same problem this morning on my home PC, disabled the profile module through the database and can login normally with user.php.

Can anyone confirm? 2.3 RC3

I will do some debugs over the weekend.

How to disable the profile module through the database?

I had similar problems. After I changed the webmaster's password this afternoon, XOOPS 2.3 stopped letting me in. When I use the webmaster's user name "admin" and new password login, it says "Thanks for logging in, admin". However, it does NOT let me get into the system. Instead, original login page was shown. The same problem happened when I tried to login using normal registered user account. In addition, new users cannot get registered. Any ideas?
