Hi, the basic idea I'm trying to develop is to adapt qwikioffice.com to XOOPS. This application it's based on the ExtJS framework and PHP code but can't works with dynamic content. I searched for CMSs and finally I decided to integrate it with XOOPS (or try to do it)...

The problem is that I don't know how to separate 'core' html pages (the ones which show the desktop) and 'applications' pages. Default theme calls a basic structure for all the pages and I don't know how to change it so that clicking a link call just a rendered part of code (View Account, Notifications, etc.).

Any help is welcome

TIA

Very cool idea actually.
However I do not understand your plan quite clearly.
Can you please explain a little bit more to see what I can help you?

Every time that XOOPS loads a page (for example by clicking on the 'View Account' link), the resulting page is composed by all the modules (headers, right, center and left modules, and footer). All that modules should be charged just one time at logging time (loading of the desktop environment), and clicking on some link should load just a part of code (e.g. the account properties)...

I want to load the user information in a popup by adding html code to the main page dynamically (that's the way actually works qwikioffice)... If I load the main page every time I follow a link, It's impossible to store information about opened application, position etc; instead it's possible If I load and delete html portions.

I don't want to change anything in the core php code... I'd like to do it just with templates and themes.

I'm very sorry for my english. It's hard to explain myself in other language than spanish or italian...
Hope that this information better explains the idea.

TIA

AJAX was invented to change pages in your browser, without reloading them.
There are some Xoops modules that make use of this technique.

You should check Wanikoo work !
I've also convert some themes
to "flying windows" that shows
such interface can be easily done
with Xoops. But take care online!
Till next version, run an intranet

Link of the french project i've used by the past
with Wanikoo work and XOOPS built with ease
