What was needed to go from XOOPS to impress CMS? (It's spelled in two words, because the forumeditor is narrowminded)
I guess not much.
Identifying these steps are the basics for a plan to a reverse transformation.
I hear always it should be compatible with each others modules and so, so it can be that you have only to restore a backup from the database in the fresh installed Xoops.
You could try this with XXAMP or LAMP on your own PC.

there is no such a plan to provide an upgrade script from impress to xoops. We focus on xoops, nothing else.
@all users : you have to hurry up, soon the framework of XOOPS will be completely different from the impress one, making it impossible to provide such a script.
Do synergy or die.

Hi Voltan,

Since impress rely on Gijoe modules and support
they also made an effort to implement XOOPS Cube
Legacy features alike XOOPS TRUST PATH and preloads
so, quite close to XOOPS standards

From what i read at Peak forums, you should pay attention
to user profile (if extended with new fields) and custom tags.

The "big change" is that they also adopt salt and they changed the lock of the old wood door ^^
(something also done by instantzeor)

So, when importing users, they may have to request a new password. Test it locally first and

Have fun sharing your experience !

P.S. Thanks for persian translation !
I like people more than machines or money. But that's me!
Lets do something good and great: Lets do open source!

@marco: Not provide a upgrade/downgrade script from icms is a mistake. Be sure icms will allways have one for XOOPS users.

@Damaster: I´m sure icms handles md5 to make it compatible.

@voltan: If you are talking about ????? 1.0 than you will not have problems in going back to XOOPS again.
However icms 1.1 and XOOPS 2.3 are to far away on from another.

Moment to make a decision is comming.

Xoops is offering you a rich core on wich module developers can extend funcionalities.
Icms is offering builtin funcionalities and a core that I´m not sure for what it is good for.

Will have to wait some more time to see.
