well i downloaded the upgrade for version 2.0.17-to-2.0.18

i uploaded the upgrade folder to my ftp
then ran the file, it checked what version already installed
decided i needed the upd-2.0.17-to-2.0.18 ..it then gave a message about altertables or something like that , i clicked finish and then i had this message

Checking applied upgrades:
upd-2.0.13-to-2.0.14
upd-2.0.15-to-2.0.16
upd-2.0.16-to-2.0.17
upd-2.0.17-to-2.0.18

No upgrade necessary. Please remove this folder from your server

cool!, i thought, but when i went to check my version number, its still displaying Powered by XOOPS 2.0.17.1

so has it upgraded or what? i was expecting it to say 2.0.18

what have i done wrong?

and finally does this upgrade FIX the issue where members are continually being logged out

cheers

The message is stored in database as a text field and the version number is thus hardcoded, which means no real version awareness.
You need change the footer in system=>preferences

hi, thanks for your quick reply

when i went from 2.0.17 to 2.0.17.1 i didnt have to do that, so why would i have to now?
so is my version 2.0.18 or 2.0.17.1? now?

In the footer of admin area, you will see the real version number.

lets say , i or another member log into the site, then go to the forums or other targets throughout the site, by the time i get there or want to navigate the pages i need to re-log back in

sometimes it doesnt even let you do that , you enter your username/pass and it says thankyou for logging in and when it returns you to the landing page, your not logged in
