hello..

I have really interesting problem on my XOOPS website.

I have a news module installed and have been using it for sometime now.

However resently it has been misbehaving.

Content posted into the news module disappear and reappear when they feel like.

Has any one experienced a similar problem and is there a solution?

Hi konadu,

I'm using News 1.53 and have the same problem. Sometimes not all the news articles show up on the main index page. All the articles show up in the module blocks and spotlight, but are not all displayed in the index. If I select the category of the missing articles in the navigation box, the missing articles then show up. They just don't all show up in the main index when all categories are supposed to be showing.

I cannot even guess what could be causing that, since the bug doesn't always occur. Bugs are usually very consistent when and where they appear, but there is nothing consistent about this.

Check your topics in the topics manager. There is a setting called Publish in front page. I just noticed that the category of articles not showing up had that setting turned off in the topics manager. When I turned it back on, the articles started showing again.

I have no idea how or why that setting suddenly changed, since I've not used the topics manager in months. I played around with some other administrative settings, but never went near the topics manager. The articles have that setting too.

Thus, you may want to check that setting on your own site.

Go to your phpmyadmin and check/repair the database.
