After a good run of posts about starting a new XOOPS site and looking through some of the other posts on x.o, I was wondering if anyone is interested in me taking a stab at another series - this time about building a XOOPS theme.

I would be borrowing information from a lot of other sources and can only give the basics, but I may be able to update the 'Anatomy of the default XOOPS theme' article from a few years back. I am also open to anyone else contributing to this along the way.

It would be great if you could update the anatomy doc, as it may become somewhat redundant, from what I hear about the new theme. Maybe you can conscript Jmorris to give you a hand, since he has been spending a lot of time unravelling it!

Yeah - I took a look at the default theme in 2.3.0 and it is much different! From what I was reading, though, the 2.0 themes will still work in 2.3. And it does appear the architecture stays the same, just a different approach to building the files.

Excellent! Thank you for sharing this.

Very complete articles (in French - get your favorite translator ready) about the structure of the themes and how to convert to XOOPS. Will you adapt them to English?

I agree! Excellent work.

I volunteer to translate to english, and complement the work. I must finish first my labor with the XOOPS demo and I'll look into this after.

Thank you Snow!

This would be a good case study to add to the others at XoopsInfo.com
