Anyway, anyone notice that this story disappeared? I am hoping that this is a database issue, and not a censoring issue.

Shame on he who censored.... if that is the case.

The author took all available precautions before posting.

(i.e. [adult site])

The Yax category should be available for any XOOPS users no matter what the content of their domain. XOOPS cannot be held liable for that.

That is if censoring is the case.

Plus I waited all day to check it out, certainly didnt wanna click that link at work ;D

I slightly agree about censorship, but this was a straight-up, no holds barred XXX porn site. Everything was in your face on the home page.

The submitter was upfront about the site's content, but it might be a good idea if he at least put a splash screen up.

ahhh see you had a chance to check it out. I do agree that a you must be 18 to enter screen is important.

Heres and idea

a simple index.html that says you must be 18 to enter

"yes" takes you to http://www.yoursite.com/index.php

"no" takes you to http://www.nickjr.com

I wanted to see what the rumpus was after reading m0nty's and davidl2's comments. Definitely not something I would rush home from work for, but to each his own.

yes, i un-approved & expired the article after discussion with bender earlier.. reason being that from xoops.org to a full on in your face porn site in 1 click, is not good practice when this site is for users of all ages.. & i take the blame for approving it in the 1st place.. (what was i thinking) :-|

@gestroud - lol way to make me sound like a perve....

@monty - perhaps a more detailed regulation sheet should be mandatory. Unfortuneatly you cannot control how XOOPS is used, but requiring webmasters to take every available precaution before they submit would certainly help.

Ultimately, there is always going to be some group that does not like the content of a website.

I definitely do not blame you for taking down the link, but seeing as XOOPS.org has no easily accessible rules for this matter, I do not think that you can hold this domain to any higher standards.

After all it was only last week that Bornslacker was in the Yaxs, and that domain is "adult oriented" maybe not as much, but a rating is a rating.

Kudos for you for making XOOPS more user friendly, I just feel that in the future more precautions should be taken to ensure that these matters do not actually become a nuisance.

(BTW I googled "TGP THUMB", apparently this is some sorta XXX terminology I was unaware of. As a man in my mid 20's....Frankly, I'm shocked.)

i haven't been on the born slacker site.. :| am i missing out? ;)

but yes we should as rule not allow those sites in yaxs if they don't contain adequate measures to restrict content.. yes a simple splash screen would suffice i think. i know he took appropriate measures by stating it's an adult site, but well when i was 10 i'd have jumped to click it.. lol (there was no internet when i was 10 tho, only bbs boards with expensive phonebills after using them but u see my point..

I agree with the decision. The site should probably be a little bit harder to access.

As far as rules, there will always be people who won't bother to read them, who will ignore them, or who will try to bend them. Just using common sense and having moderators review the posts is the best thing, IMO.

Well...well!!!

The reason i post to YAXS was to show that XOOPS can be used to something else like childs playgorund sites.

but looks like xoops.org yaxs editors they do actually censor to thigns that they personally dont like.

the reason the moderator give on this forum, is not acceptable for censoring. the whole internet is full of adult site with explicit pictures on the main page.

even the xoop site preferences and metatags allow you to specify the rating of every sites content.

if you wanna play dad.. and not allow people to look at this kind of sites, then you should start bloking all adult related websites on the whole internet.

besides all this, do you think an underage kid will come to xoops.org , hummm dont think so... most of us, are guys over 18.

i though this community was all about free speech and contributions, but look like not.

whats going to happend when some programmer make an adult module for XOOPS ??? if the module comes with defaults explicit images are you also going to block his module on repository ???



ask yourself this questions before, deleting post that was marked from the beggining as an adult link.

Sorry, but I can think of at least three people who are VERY active in the XOOPS community who are under the age of 18.
