help! why is login the first page! and how to adjust weight of start module??

here is my website www.midwestwakeboarder.com

I have two problems first is ever since I changed the ip board module to be the start page users are directed to the lost password link.

It worked fine before, I just wanted the forum to be on the main page.

Second, ever since I made the forum the start module the weight of any specific block whether set 0 or 9 stays above the ip board, how can I make it go below the start module so I can say post a news block below the forum block on the main page?

im very newbish, not very adapt, and anyone who could come forward with specific instructions as to how to remedy would be greatly appreciated.

ps, I did adjust the forum controls to allow anonymous users, still to no avail.

Can you please give us your versions? And the name of the module you are using?

Re: help! why is login the first page! and how to adjust weight of start module??

grrr this is so frustrating.....

I changed the start module to "none"

then i added the blocks I wanted with the correct weight.

In substitute of having the forums module be the start module (in lieu of none and having "most active topics") I added the "most active topics" block which i HATE.

Isnt there a way to have the forums be the start module, yet be able to adjust the weight of subsequent "center" blocks?

The login thing is a whole other issue.

I prefer to see happy xoopsers!

I don't know the first thing about invision power board. Here's hoping someone else will come along.

Re 'versions' - do you have an understanding of this?

From read b4u post

We have the last one - and the first to some degree (2.0.?.?) ...but it is really important to give as much information as you can.

Re: help! why is login the first page! and how to adjust weight of start module??

how about a yes or no to this question anyone, can i adjust the weight of blocks in relation to using a module for a start page.

So far, I can adjust the weight of the blocks when I use "none" as start page module, but when I change it to "forums" the center blocks go ABOVE the forum module regardless of the weight I give the blocks.

Near as I can tell XOOPS seems to ignore the weight of other blocks, and wont let you adjust the weight of the start page.

ANYONE????

YES, but...

You have to:

edit your theme, so the content and forum loops to be in the order you like. Content is the place, where your starting module content is displayed. But this will make the change for all site!

OR

you can install a hack. Look here for more info:https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=43361&viewmode=flat&order=ASC&start=0

(this is for 2.0.x)
