Hi

I have made all ready to install on a hosted platform and uploadet the tree folders to my root directory :

Docs
Extras
Html

The installationguide then says :

"you can start the install by typinghttp://yoursite.com. this will start the install process"

I understand to change yoursite to my own, but where do I type the mentioned ??

I have uploadet with FTP.

you type the URL in to your internet browser as if you where going to visit the site and the intall will start though you may have to telnet in to your server to change some of the file privelages but this is explained on screen as you do it.

Doing as you says doesn't make much sence to me,
because typing my address in a browser points
to my puplic folder (public_html) and just opens
my indexfile which is placed there (and nothing else)
My XOOPS files are placed in 3 separate folders in the
root were my puplic folder is placed as well.
I understand it's the way to do it.

You only need to upload the contents of the 'html' folder not all 3 folders.

upload the 'html' folder to the ftp folder called 'public_html' (it is usually called that. so it should now look like 'public_html' with the 'html' folder in it. or you could upload the contents that are in the 'html' folder to 'public_html' . myself i just uploaded the 'html' folder, i have a lot of directories in the 'public_html' directory on my site and i wanted to keep XOOPS separate. And The URL You Put In Your Web Browser To Start The XOOPS Install Script Would Behttp://www.domain.com and if you uploaded the actual 'html' folder it would behttp://www.domain.com/html

1: Last opp på server alt du har i din html folder (ikke noe annet)

2: Skrive www.DinDomain.com hvis ikke det hjelper så skrive www.DinDomain.com/install

3: Nå skal installasjon begynne og du kommer til å trenge noe informasjon undervei som database navn passord etc (det er ikke samme som din ftp)

Du MÅ ha opprettet en database på din server før du begynner installasjon. Hvis din ISP bruker cpanel så kan du bruke det til å installere XOOPS da kan du installere det med bare to muse klikk
