*****Hypnotic suggestion!****

Wouldn't it be a nice to have a module template section in addition to the themes area. Some modules have great features, but are just organized just a bit wrong. I think this idea could freashen up some old modules a bit. If this is a good idea are any designers willing to try their hands at templates? Could be worth lots of browny points!

I know... here goes don suggesting ideas again

Actually its a rather good idea.

I'll be honest in saying I'm not sure how to use templates to their best, and anything like alternative templates could be a handy addition.

Do you mean just general ones - or alternative customised for modules as well?

Certainly sounds interesting. I always change module templates for my own needs, but I would love to see some real changes that have been made to module templates by people who can code properly . It would also stop XOOPS sites looking so samey.

Perhaps we should move this discussion to the XOOPS redesign forum?

hi guys,

david,
I was thinking for the modules. It would just be nice to have a template pack for modules. Isn't module templates supposed to be a strong point for Xoops? We could almost treat this idea like an icon package for your site.

Matter of fact having module devs share icon sets for their modules would be a nice idea too!

Next idea.

*edited to clarify*
What about using two modules inside one template? Content could be messaged to produce a nice layout inside one block. Not sure how to pull this off, but I can't see why it couldn't be done. This could yeild some extraordinary results?

BN,
I think that would help a lot.

How will templates be handled in XOOPS 2.3+? Are they going to stay?

I think this could be worth exploring. I'd like to see some designers turn their attentions from themes to templates. This could bring new life into some of the modules.
