That is my url. My host (burstnet) upgraded the kernal on my leased server today. At first, the message above is what I got, they said they fixed it by changing it (the name for the kernal) in my "temporary" folder.

But the problem has happened periodically throughout the day. Some times I can access the site, other times not.

If I ping it, it shows the connections are fine. But I first noticed that "stage/class/database,databasefactory.php line 34" part of the error message this last time.

Can anyone help me? The guy that was helping is from Russia (I am in the usa) and he has just dropped off the planet.. I have no one to help me and really need HELP!!

this happens when the connection to the database server cannot be made. If it happens periodically, it probably times out. You should inform your host about these problems. It's not a code issue (read: XOOPS), but the infrastructure your site is hosted on.

The problem turned out to be an auto-upgrade that took place on cpanel...

http://www.axcessnews.com was processing 700 msyql activities at once, causing the site to stay offline to viewers for two days until we installed a patch.
