Improved Cookie Handling - Keep Theme

I've looked around and am surprised that no one else has requested this feature.

I (and my users) would like it if the theme they select when they are on the site is stored in the site cookie so that when they return the theme is still there and it does not go back to the "default".

Is this possible?

doesn't the 'themes' block (from the system module) provide this service?

No, selcted theme stored in session cookie
