Rather than submit half a dozen posts I'll list my little problems in one post.

The site url if anyone wants to look and help is http://worldwidemediums.com/index.php

PROBLEM 1: I have installed a couple of modules and set them to appear in the right hand column (side block - right) and set them to appear on all frontside pages. However, none of the modules appear in the right hand column but appear as an option in the main menu in the left hand column.

What am I doing wrong?

PROBLEM 2: I have 6 groups one of which is webmaster of which I will be the only one. I don't want people joining this group. However, the webmaster group appears on the profile page and registration page and people can join the group. How do I prevent this?

PROBLEM 3: (will someone please sign up to check this one out) On the edit profile page I have somehow ended up with two fields that mean the same thing ... Group Select and Site Group. How do I get rid of the group select and keep the site group?

PROBLEM 4: On the profile's the site group appears as a number instead of the group name. How do I get it to display the group name?

PROBLEM 5: In the search options (profiles) how do I set it to search by group?

PROBLEM 6: On everyone else's profile except mine there is a PM button. This means people can only send me a reply to a private message - they cannot initiate a new private message. I am the only member of the webmasters group and all settings give me access. What is wrong?

Hope someone can help me with the above problems

I tried to register also, but got a message saying that I don't have permission to access that area. The forums aren't visible to anonymous users.

Do you have your admin preferences set to allow new user registration?

Ah, I see the message board is up now, but I still cannot register.

It's good to see that you've posted some pretty comprehensive advice for your visitors about solving the problem. After following it, I have to regretfully say that it still didn't work on my computer.

One suggestion would be to make the Contact Us section visible to anonymous users. The you might add a post letting would-be registrants know that if all else fails, they should use the Contact Us form and provide you with their desired user i.d. and a valide e-mail address. Then you can just add the user, create a temporary password for them, e-mail them the password and let them know that they can change their password once they've signed in with the temporary one.

I know that this isn't the ideal way to go about it, but it may help until you're able to get the system to work the way you want it to.
