Hello,

I'm in the process of installing xoops, and was coming accross this error message during the installation. I haven't seen any other references to it on this site, so I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what it is. Any help would be appreciated.

it should be fixed in the latest nightly..

btw, are you aware that you are trying to install an alpha version that has many bugs and is not for production sites?

i suggest you read the news article..

the latest stable release is 2.0.10

Thanks for the tips, (especially about the password). I didn't realize that 2.11 wasn't stable, sorry. I just went to the download section and downloaded what looked like the latest version. I guess I have to read more carefully.

XOOPS 2.1 is not guaranteed to work with all modules and there may be bugs and inconveniences as what we are working on is among other things tweaking interfaces and adding new functionality.

How can we make it clearer?

Perhaps append the beta tag to the archive?

"XOOPS version 2.1 beta" Maybe it would help.

And by passwording it so people can't install without looking for it...?

I think changing it to say Beta is a sensible idea.

I'd take it off the main page all together to be honest and maybe add the download linky to the 2.2 roadmap article instead. That way we might assume that a new user has read the article and should know that this is still beta.

Good idea... change the nightly link to link to the article as well perhaps?

An even better idea.
