Is there a way that I can put an intro page on my site so ask what your age is and if you click the "over 18" button it will automatically set your permissions for a certain group?

For example: let's say I make permissions group for "adult" and as soon as people go to my site it asks if you are over 18 or not and if you select the "over 18" it will either prompt you to register and put you automatically in the "adult" group , and if your already registered it will just change your access group.

Is this possible?

not sure of the answer there dude, but that's a bloody great idea for someone to mod-up if there isn't one yet!.. I could do with that on my mindex page of www.fruitybids.com as I am going to create another XOOPS site but for non-"adult" material. and if they wasn't 18 + it could direct them to my younger site!..

Yep, just like that Catzwolf but if they put in an age that is under 18 instead of seeing

"Age restrictions Apply
You are not allowed to view this file"

They would just be re-directed somewhere else.
