News on front page

Is there a way to make the news show up on the main page w/out the site going to the /modules/news/ directory?

Jep, activate the block 'recent'news'.
Or, if you have installed the latest news 1.3.1 activate spotlight which you'll find within the recent news block of this module.

I just installed 1.3.1 now (my old recent news block would only show the topic, not the article).
Now I can't get the block to display anything, if i turn on spotlight or not, the block just isn't showing up.

Same thing going on here. Is there a news module that's been verified to work well with XOOPS 2.1/2.2?

I tried News 2, but had the same problem.

I also tried hacking the "Big Story" block in News 2 to meet my needs (display the article along with the link), but couldn't get it to display XOOPS code correctly on the home page. Any time the user would enter a link or picture using the XOOPS tools, it just displays the code, not the intended items.

Any help would be... um.. helpful.
