I've been searching the web for 4 days now and NOT finding what I need :(
Normally, you can get almost anything for Xoops!

What I need is a Mailing List module for XOOPS (2.x) where an anonymous user can add an email address Without registrating.

Does such a module exist? If yes PLEASE let me know.

Would be nice if it has a admin-section for easy management. And if possible - would be able to send news writen in a XOOPS news system (fx news1.3 witch I use or other). Or if it was possible to make that part optional. So you chose what news module you use and it will adabt :)

You might ask "why don't you make such a Mailing List Module?". Well, I do not know how...

Give pp-new or evennews a go. Be aware though that these modules are not suited for handling large mailing lists, maybe 1000 users tops (depending on processing power of your server)

I've tried them - put for someone to join the mailinglist they had to registre themselfs. I need a mailing list where it is possible to add an email without registration. (for anonymous users). This is vital because many will not join a mailing list if they have to fill out forms an such.

And with time I think the mailing list will grow to around 10.000 users.

I use XOOPS for sale purpos. If I whent into a shop (IRL) just to look and asked for some info on something, I would be angry if a sales-person asked for my name and such.
"I just want info - not a membership!"

But I no "stand-alone mailing list" exist - I must (sadly) use PHP-list or something else.

I agree! This would be a nice thing to have. Maybe it should be a part of the XOOPS core. Surely the devs could whip up such a mod fairly quickly? :)

Alien,

Since you are not looking to integrate your list with the XOOPS user base, why not just use any php mailing list?

Just install it in a seperate directory, then, you can create a custom block with a link to the signup page and display it in your XOOPS site.

I know that's not what you were looking for, but maybe it will help.

I hope - that would be totally cool and at the same time "so hot" !! ;)
