Hi, guys,

I'm a novice in this field.

When I testing my site in my computer, it just works fine. However, when I upload to the host, I cannot read my index page. It seems like a FTP site. Please take a look at:

http://72.29.68.45/~plugmoo/

I know I have to edit the path in mainfile.php, but I'm not sure how to do it. What else shold I do to load the index page correctly?

Please help me. Thanks

Chen

try and see if there's an index.htm or index.html file on your server in the website root somewhere. And if this is true, rename it to !index.html or something.

But how about index.php ? I have that inside the folder. Is it necessary to be index.htm or index.html?

Thanks

I just upload my index.html page, but it is not what I want. It should show my index.php. What should I do?

re read herko's post.. lol

i think xpiders post may have confused you..

DELETE or RENAME the index.html file as apache reads index.html files before it reads index.php and you need index.php to be read.. so renaming index.html or simply deleting it will do the job.

Really appreciate everybody's help. I deleted the index.html but still couldn't see anything. Hoever, I found another solution. The server provides installing XOOPS itself. I'm testing now if that works o not. Thanks guys.

ok :) if it's fantastico, let us know what version as it may not be the latest version (2.0.9.2).. you could really do with the latest version..

and with fantastico they install into a subdirectory, which means you may not have your site setup how you might want it..

so instead of having http://72.29.68.45/~plugmoo/

your site might end up in http://72.29.68.45/~plugmoo/xoops/
