Hi there,

I was playing with the theme.htm file (only changing a button) and now the site has lost all its frames,

I revert to a back up copy and the site is still messed up, i then change theme, and the page is still messed up with no frames.

i have deleted all my internet history incase it wasnt refreshing properly but it still wont work,

has anyone got any ideas what to do?

It could be that I need to clear the cache or something but how would I do that?

Please help! - Thanks

Rob

What frames are you referring too. I visited your site and it seems to load fine for me.

You can go to Admin Control Panel - System Admin - Preferences - click on Edit by general preferences, scroll all the way down and click on the "Go" button with no changes. That clears your site cache.

HTH.

OK - DISASTER OVER,

sorry for the over-reaction, to fix it I deleted all my themes and re-installed the original theme (although I still have to re-edit the theme to as it was.

Atleast it works, and cheers jdseymour for your support.

One thing I noticed about making changes to the theme.html file is that it wouldn't take effect until I refreshed my site with another theme.

Basically I had to select another theme that was installed and then go back to the theme package that I changed.

You have to set XOOPS to always load theme from file instead of db:

Set "Update module template .html files from themes/your theme/templates directory?" to YESThis setting is important because it is the only way that XOOPS will reload the 'new' css and html codeso you can 'test' your changes 'on the fly'.

from FAQ : How do I build a theme?

that should help :)

Cheers,

If you are trying to edit the theme.html in your themes folder and nothing seems to be changed, be sure that you set "Update module template .html files from themes/your theme/templates directory?" to "YES" in General Settings!!
