Dear All,

I am a bit confused about the installation instructions in the respective document. It reads that if you install to a hosted remote server, you copy the contents of the html direcotry to the root folder where you have access, say public_html and then rename the folder to xoops. Once this is done, you should be able to access the site by typing http://www.yoursite.com/ as it says in the manual.

My question is that since it is the html folder we renamed to xoops, should the address not be http://www.yoursite.com/xoops?
Why is it different from the local host?

George

Re: Site Address Question

You do not upload the html folder of the XOOPS archive to the root directory of you server. You upload all the files and folders contained in the html folder.

See this Xoops installation flash tutorial.
