I am new to XOOPS so please bear with me.

I am setting up a XOOPS site just for a directory. I would like to use xDirectory but here is the problem.

I have two types of users. the common everyday users and the paid users.

I would like to make it so the common users (free) can only post their listing.

While paid users get to post and view the directory. Can someone come up with this or has it already been done?

Thanks for any and all help

This sounds like a matter of configuring groups cleverly and maybe a custum block that included the submission form link, which you can set permissions for.

you might even consider using a custom or duplicate form?
hmmm Sorry just brainstorming.

So you want to allow the common users (free) to only post not view? And the paid users to post and view?

I think the larger issue that the developers of this module talked about originally was the ability to charge the user for the premium services.

That is what really needs to be done for this module: charge and collect fees from users who select the premium services that the module makes available.

That would make this a killer module.

From the modules "Future Features" section:

"An e-commerce solution where users can submit their listings and pay for any upgrades to their basic listing online through an e-commerce portal. And have it all done automatically (without the involvement of the administrator). This is a nice feature to add once the entire module is bug free and the features above have been implemented."
