Hi Gang,

I've having a small issues with XOOPS Control Panel. The icons for each module (which appear down the left side of the Control Panel) are not staying in order. This, by itself, is not a problem for me. I really don't care in which order they appear. However, I just installed the Headlines Module and no icon appears down the left side. I'm not sure if these issues are related. I am able to configure the Headlines module by clicking on it's icon in the Modules page but that's a bit of a pain.

Are these problems related? I just want to make sure that this is not a problem that will get worse...

go to sysem admin -> modules and 'update' the system module. This will rewrite the system admin menu.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried to do as you asked and got the following message:

Module System updated successfully.

I tried it a second time and got the same error. I then turned on PHP debug, tried it a third time and it worked with this debug info:
Quote:
Notice [PHP]: unserialize(): Error at offset 0 of 340 bytes in file kernel/configitem.php line 100

Weird! The icons are still out of order but the one for Headlines is now there. Should I be concerned?

Is the cache folder and his contents still writeable?

I also don't understand where that 'failed open fileModule data updated' message comes from.
