in the discussion about fixed width centered themes i have placed a width 960px with left alignment in the themebox of

what is your first impression on loading that page?

very nice :) altho it wasn't centered on my screen using IE 6 (it was left aligned)

i prefer fixed width themes as i think it allows the webmaster to create a more professional looking theme. dynamic width themes are great, but it kinda makes more work creating header logo's as you then need to use tiles..

Michael, I like the theme fixed, but prefer it centered and not left aligned. I saw about 25mm of blue background to the right of my screen, that distracted the clean lines of the right hand column. The theme design is symetrical and I think centered positioning enforces the symetry better
