Hi Mowaffak

Thanks for the response. Is it possible to talk to you direct on the phone?

And if so do I ring the number listed on the hosts4all page?

Your current host appears to be reselling Fasthosts space so you might like to start there.

I have used Amard for over a year and am generally happy with them. They are smaller and more personal than Fasthosts and the other major UK hosts, and they do offer cPanel/WHM which is unusual for UK based hosts in my experience.

I am not connected with either of the above.

I have a uk XOOPS website (http://www.colournation.com) but I host in the US currently.

My problem is that google.co.uk won't list me as a UK site because I have a .com and host in the US.

a) Does anyone know a way round this?
b) Can anyone recommend a good UK XOOPS hosting company who's servers are in the UK?

My current host www.spidersaid.com is great but I need UK listings.

Andrew

I remember reading a FAQ on Google somewhere that mentions that to get listed under the UK pages:

1. Have a co.uk domain.
2. Be physically hosted in the UK. I guess they check know UK IP ranges here?
3. Have content on your website that mentions UK, ENGLAND, London and "UK" based keywords.

Point 3 suggests that you can have a .com address hosted in the US but still be listed under the UK pages in Google.

Cheers.

I've just started using RazorBlue (http://www.razorblue.com )

I've switch my ADSL over to them too, as it's unmetered and unblocked. I currently host from home but I'm trying to move the site across at the moment. For £1.99 per month, I'm getting 500Mb of webspace and 5Gb of transfers and unlimited MySQL databases. Support have been top notch. Only glitch was during the domain transfer but they have recently implemented a ticket system for support.

They are based in Durham and yes, you can call them and talk to them.
