hello all,
iam very much a newbie
but i am interested in making themes for xoops
but i have no idea how, is there like any faq or walkthrough or documantation on how to create themes
or which files and images i can change to create a theme?

have a look in Dokumentation
files and the anatomy of default theme.

hope this will help you to get some basic things

Also downloading a theme and hacking the different grafics and such is a great way to learn. Pay close attention to the style.css you can really do alot with them.
