Installing New Theme

I downloaded a new them for the library. When i went to upload it to my site, it was the wrong format. How do I fix this?

It said that in needs to be .tar/.gz file? The themes's aren't, or are the tamplets different from the theme?

Templates are in .tar/.gz formats. In admin menu you can upload templates but themes you must upload via FTP.

ok thanks for clearing that up. I installed a theme how do I apply it? I want it as the default theme, but it only lists the default theme in the drop down list.

You must go to Admin Panel->System->Preferences->General Settings. From there, you can make it your default theme, or make it selectable in the list by going to Selectable themes and holding CTRL button down and clicking on the theme you would like available.
