I have intstalled the latest version of the Document Management System Module. I am running XOOPS 2.07.

The only trouble I am having so far is when I add a pdf document. When the document is clicked it wants to save the file instead of displaying it in the browser. I have the latest version of adobe reader installed.
This only occurs in the DMS module. Pdf files linked elsewhere open in the browser as they should.
There seems to be an issue with mime types.
Is there a way to get the pdf file to display in the browser like it should using this module?

Hello,

The problem is not coming from the module but from the way your browser is configured to act when it loads a pdf file. (You must configure the mime types).

Bye,
Hervé

Thanks for your help, but as I said the problem only occurs in the DMS module. The browser handles pdf files fine everywhere else. How could a browser misconfiguration affect only this module?

When the mouse is over the link, can you see the file directly or does it redirect you to a new blank page (like the download module) ?

When I mouse over the link I see the following url in the status bar
http://domain.com/modules/dms/#

If I click the link it opens a new browser window to
http://domain.com/modules/dms/file_view.php?obj_id=3
Then a download prompt pops up asking whether I want to save or open the file.

OK if no one knows anything about the DMS module, can someone reccomend a good alternative script for sharing documents such as pdfs?

Hello,

There will be a fix for this in the next version of DMS...which will be released soon.
