When the first screen of the install process comes up and asks my to select language, I leave it defaulted to English. I then click on Next, but nothing happens. No matter how many times I click on it, nothing....

My Server is configured:
Apache 2.0.48 (Win32)
mod_perl 1.99_13-dev
Perl v5.8.2
PHP 5.0.0
JRun 4.0

Strange problem that one first ive heard. Try deleting all your uploaded XOOPS files and try uploading them again and going through the install you may have missed uploading a file. Also have you downloaded and uploaded the latest version of xoops? My best bet is start again.

XOOPS is not yet ready for php5, that is your problem. Nothing can be done until the development for PHP5 compatibility has been completed, or your host reverts back to php4.x

There is currently no ETA on when XOOPS will be completely PHP5 compatible, although you can get a beta version on dev.xoops.org, I think.

I have met this problem before. To get the next screen for PHP5, the configuration in php.ini has to be change.
Set the "register_long_arrays" to on because the installation probram use the form of $HTTP_*_VARS.
