Is there a way to remove the number of reads on an article?

A little more information may be needed, such as for which module you would like to see this changed in. It's not that hard to do, but if we know for which module and version someone will post an answer.

Go to your template administration, select your template->news->news_item.html

remove this line:
(<span class="itemStats"><{$story.hits}> <{$lang_reads}></span>)


submit, and of you go,.

Hate to sound like a broken record. And I admit being a newbie.

When I change this in the interface, the only button available is "view". This does not change anything. Any ideas on what I need to change to make this a "submit" or "change" button.

you will need to clone the default template set before you can modify any templates. The default set is meant as a 'fail-safe' in case something terrible happens to the customized ones.

Editing the real file, and then updating the module could also be a possibility if you do not want to clone the template set...

that would require a SQL edit aswell
