Looking for tutorial of creating Block

I am looking for a tutorial for creating a Block .. is anyone ever made it ?

If it is not exist yet, can someone recommend me a simple (block) module that I should take a look ? (I would like to learn on the simple and easy one first ... )

No, It is not what i want ... in XOOPS For Dummies, it just explain what is block and how to use. What I want is how to develop a block, just like a tutorial how to develop a modules in XOOPS wiki.

what you mean?

what you want to do in a block?

or you want to create a normal custom block?

that case..
go to system admin -> blocks
scroll down till you find a Form that allows you to create custom block

thats all

I think he wants to create a module with a block in it, not a custom block. If that's the case, go read the wiki about module development and study the code from a simple module that is similar to what you want to do.

dheltzel, you are right, I want to develop a module that has a block.

Can you give me suggestion, which simple module that I should learn from ?

I already read tutorial about module development, but it didnt mention about module that has block.

There was a sample module made a while ago, it can be found

towards the bottom of the page, it's called Sample Module
