I am happy that you had no problems installing 2.0.7 you say do what the patch says well therer are NO readme files in there telling me what i need to replace there is a folder that says diff 206-207 do i go and overwrote all the files with those ones??

Come on I asked a specific question about how to not if you all had issues or not.. can we please stay on topic

Snow answered the question, and it was all on the same topic, even the part about not having a problem with it because the topic is about updating.

However, since it looks like it doesn't say with specifics what to do, generally you just overwrite the old files with the new ones, update the system in the admin section, and you are done. Make sure everything is backed up first.

More specific??

I downloaded the 2.0.6 to 2.0.7 patch it´s .tar file. I unzip it and get 4 folders: diff, docs, extras, and html. the contents of HTML is what you upload to your XOOPS root and overwrite.

Have a beer man, take whiskey, take it easy man. Life is all about learning.

Your welcome , besides I´m a girl , lol. I called you man because I know you are a guy.

Well actually I think you have to give write permissions to your mainfile run the install again(the one you upload with the patch), it will just do some security updates. then make that folder with just read permissions.

cool! have a drink Friday night you deserve it

Found the instructions:

Quote:
!!EXTRA UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS!!
Please apply the patch as ususal, overwriting the original files with the ones from the patch. Please use your FTP application to make the mainfile.php file in your site root folder temporarily writable (chmod 777). Point your broweser to www.yoursite.com/upgrade/xoops_206_to_207.php, and follow the instructions. When the upgrade of mainfile.php is done, please chmod mainfile.php back to 644 or 444, and remove the upgrade/xoops_206_to_207.php file from your server.
