Setting up "Venues"

I would like to setup a "Venues" section, this will list showdates/performances for bands that are touring, local events, etc... I tried using Agenda-X but Its not working for me, (add event, view day, etc... shows up in white and not visible unless you roll your mouse over it... cant figure out where to change the font color for it). Any other way to setup a section displaying showdates and stuff??

in the config php file, if u look near the end of the file the colour settings set from there..

there's also a css file in the images folder.
