Hi,

This might be a too dump question but please tell me how too show news on the home page, i selected the news block in center for the home page, but instead of showing the news it shows just two drop downs one with categories and other with no of news to be shown, :(

What i want is that it shows alteast 10 news on the first page on the basis of date. How can i do that ???

I dont want the news page to be my home page, as there are many blocks that i have set on the home page.

u said you want news on home page and you also said you don't want news page to be your homepage...

This may sound silly - but have you entered any test articles in your system? In my experience, the blocks don't show up unless they have something to display.

What i am trying to say that, i dont want to set news page as my home page from the Prefernces option. Rather what i want is that i can put the news block in my home page which shows the 10 news on the basis of date.


its like

-Welcome block
-Recent post block
-News Block (showing 10 news)

pballmama,

i have news under various Topics, problem is that on main page i just see a drop down to select the topic and no of contents, once i do that i can see the news. otherwise i cant.

so, do you have any articles in your database yet? I am using news on my home page also -- but only as a block, like you are saying and it works fine but you HAVE to have some content there for it to display

Perhaps enable the "Recent News" block?

other thing that i would like to know that how can i change the backgroud color of the top news, big story, recent news module. I use x2t theme.

I looked into the style sheet, but could not find it how to change the bgcolor of this modules.

OK - it sounds like you have the wrong block selected. Are you using the 'Recent News' block? YOu can also further edit what will be displayed by clicking on edit on the blocks page.

Recent news block or the big story block just displays the news heading, instead i want to show the news as seen on the news page. do have any module for that ???
