New Hosting company named StrikeHosting recently opened.

Check it out http://www.strikehosting.com/

I have a with 500+mb of files and roughly around 60mb of SQL data and they moved all my domains for me. Even updated my SQL for XOOPS so that I didnt loose any data during the move.
They update their servers often as well.

They are running the latest version of PHP and MySQL:
PHP version 4.3.7
MySQL version 4.0.18-standard

The website doesn't look very convincing as a Hosting company...

Can you elaborate on what you are referring to?

I am trying to help them get some customers and such so as to ensure their future.

After all without customers a company goes under.

Re: StrikeHosting.com

1. Their homepage looks like something a 13-year old with dreamweaver has whipped up

2. Their prices are higher than others. E.g. hosting at surpass, you can get
Space- 3000MB
Bandwidth: 50GB
Unlimited EMail
cPanel X9.2
Scripta
for the same $6, which will give you 1 GB of space and 20 GB bandwidth at StrikeHosting.

3. Their support page says forum support is under construction, but there is a navigation link to working forums...

4. domains.strikehosting.com is linked to, but doesn't exist

5. Email plans link shows a text saying that "email plans will be here"

All in all it rates a 1 on my personal 1-5 rating scale of professionalism and I would never ever consider anyone with a rating below 4.

It is a company in the far north re-selling HostDime/Surpass servers down south in Florida.

LOL
Thanks for pointing that out.
Yes as I recall they have a dedicated server that they are reselling off of or a resellers account can't tell which exactly.

I would like to also point out that Surpass while they have cheaper prices they don't however have as many support options as StrikeHosting.

Re: StrikeHosting.com

I don't need Instant Messaging with my host.

Writing an email, explaining my problem : 5-10 minutes
Initiating an IM session, explaining the problem, waiting for feedback (in case they/he are/is busy), talking more : easily 30 minutes

As long as there is a reply within an acceptable timeframe, I don't give much for IM support options.

Also, judging from the aforementioned lack of professionalism, I wouldn't expect them/him to be able to help me very much...

I may be wrong, but that's the impression I get from the website.

Strike Hosting has their own server which was brought back in March 2004. Also, the company itself didnt get going till now because of the fact that the owner really has no idea how to run a company. Luckly he knew me. I am a current owner of my own hosting company, Trafix Solutions. I been running since November 2003. I was more than willing to help Strike Hosting take a lift off in getting customers along with getting myself some. I am currently the System Administrator of the server that Strike Hosting owns.

Now, as for professionalism, ok this is the first time this person has made an attempt to make a professional site. It is totally understandable to see the quality we see on the site. You should have seen what the orignal site for Trafix Solutions. It was quite unbareable. ITs not like any hosting company that is starting off is going to have a Graphics Designer to design them a web site.

Just for the note Strike Hosting and Trafix Solutions are not related to Surpass Hosting. I have a very good reason to why I'm not related to Surpass Hosting. This is all for now. If you have any questions about either company feel free to ask.

HostDime owns Surpass and you are using HostDime servers. Technically you are related to Surpass. Your server could be just on top of Surpass' server on the same rack.

Well, if you can't manage the hosting business, then you should not be in the business.

well actually we are managing the company. As far as im concerned I do not want anything to do with surpass or hostdime. I dont make any connections to them or nor will plan on it. Strike Hosting makes all of the contacts and all. I dont, I fix my own problems. I manage the server. As a former client of surpass hosting I will not go back to them for many of reasons. I personally knew the owner of surpass hosting and let just say it was not pretty. So I guess you can say that we are competitors and enemies in a way. Its Strike Hosting is the one that has more of a relations to surpass hosting. My company dont. I do not want anything to do with surpass hosting after a specific incident with them.

Also, Strike Hosting owns the server and using their connections.
