how to clone mylinks module?

can i just rename the module folder?

Not exactly......

You have to go through each and every file and find each instance of the word "mylinks" and rename it to whatever you are going to call the cloned module. Also, remember to edit the sql file so that you don't have errors when installing the cloned module. I would just do a find and replace in that entire directory for the word mylinks. At least that is what I have done in the past. Hope that this helps.....
