HI folks,

recently my PAID webserver change their permission on sending mail via contact forms or anything similar through websites...

In other words... all the e-mails that should be send via my wesite(s) must be authenticated before they are accepted by the SMTP server...

I've tried all the e-mail options under the preferences menu in the admin section but I couldn't get my mails send... (that means even via the contact module)...

I really don't know what to do now... (except for moving my website to another server) but I wanted to solve this without the need to change servers...

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks in advance!!!

that's like going back to the past

but for sure... if I don't find any other solutions I will be forced to do that...
but aren't there any sendmail files to be used at your own domain?....

I applied this fix for smtpAuth

https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=8800&forum=21#forumpost66747

uploaded the file and refreshed the systems module (just in case it was necessary..

but I couldn't get it to work with smtpAuth... and I think this sending method could work for me....

Any other ideas /fixes / suggestions?
Thanks so far

If this is true, playing with XOOPS will not work.
What you can do is to convince your hosting or toochange your hosting.

fortunately I got them to allow sending forms using authenticated forms like smtpAuth (that I assume being used for this purpose).

But I can't get any mails sent by selecting and configuring the preferences and params...

Your host probably didn't do that just because. Are you sure you didn't have a ton of e-mails flying through your site?

If they did do it globally, I'd sure has heck change providers. That's really not a good sign...

There are also several threads I've found for changing servers/providers. I can't be that hard can it?

Yes, I don't think it'll be hard.... nothing that a table dumping couldn't solve....
But I was just trying to solve the smtpAuth first...
In fact I don't have tons of e-mails being send 'cause I just receive posted e-mails form my site and this number is really low...
I was a global change that affected all the domains and not only mine...
In fact they created a new routine called 'ultramail' and I will adpadt it to the Mailing system as far as I really understand how it works...
For a while I'll give up the contact module and I'll use just a simple contact form made via pure HTML code... It's the fastest solutions o far...
But... any other suggestions/comments are welcomed!
